In a Nutshell ...

I am a Certified Trainer with Teamworks Dog Training. I teach Beginner Agility, Intermediate Agility and Obstacle Proficiency on Thursday nights at the Teamworks facility in Youngsville. Since 2002, I have worked with four dogs in the sport of canine agility. I love the sport, and I love teaching it just as much. |

Why Agility?
The great thing about agility is that it is the kind of activity that just about anyone can participate, regardless of age, personal physical limitations or breed. There are agility experts that are amazing to watch, and there are those that will never have a qualifying run, but they are inspirational to watch.
Agility builds upon the bond that already exists between a human and a dog. It’s a natural progression of that bond, built on trust and understanding. To study agility is to take that bond with your dog to a new level, where you really can function as a team. Most people feel like their dogs like agility classes because of the exercise, but I think another reason dogs like agility is because it is special time spent with their humans; they don’t have to compete with the television or a computers. It’s an hour outside where the two of you can work as a team. Even if you never compete, the time you spend learning can be some of the most valuable time you spend with your dog … to your dog!
